Detinwolf's Heavy Gear Collection

Hey everyone, we’re back with another hobby highlight, this time we’re looking at the impressive collection by our very own Detinwolf. What drew me to his work was his exceptional clean parade ready paint jobs. Detinwolf seems to be gunning for studio painter at this point, and he might get my vote! Enjoy this look at a prolific hobbyer who won’t be happy until he has every heavy gear model painted (in parade colors no less)!

Rations of Terra Nova

Given the prevalence of advanced, portable field kitchens and the use of landships as mobile supply bases, field rations carried by individual soldiers are considered more of a temporary, supplementary measure by Terra Novan militaries. This has resulted in their quality and composition tending to vary wildly based on the producer. Aside from a disastrous attempt at Interpolar standardization during the War of the Alliance with the Ration Unit, Daily (RUD), the Leagues have largely stuck to the own idiosyncratic attempts at achieving optimal nutrition.

Crossfire Crusader IV

Crusader Crossfire

The Crusader was introduced as an alternative to the polar Grizzly and Cobra early in the TN 1800s to very poor reviews and even worse sales. Over the next few decades, Paxton Arms reworked the Crusader until a more functional vehicle was created. The Crusader IV was much better than its predecessors and was even used by some desperate polar forces in the War of the Alliance.

The Stalker Commands Peace River

PA-02LG/ST-01C Stalker

With the polar forces deploying increasingly more sophisticated reconnaissance and stealth Gears, the PRDF High Command became concerned that their current crop of recon Gears would not be up to the task of penetrating enemy areas of operation and reporting back to base. In the Summer of TN 1927 the High Command ordered a new series of stealth/recon vehicles to be built for the PRDF. In the Winter of TN 1930, Paxton Arms rolled out the first prototype of the Stalker.

Perseus Rapid Recon

PA-PX07 Perseus

The Perseus was one of the latest designs to originate from the depths of the Paxton Karaq Wastes Research and Development facility. Meant to serve in a multi-role scout/harasser capacity, the Perseus’s primary mission would be to detect any large force heading towards Peace River, perform hit and run attacks along their entire advance, and to continue to do so in their rear once the enemy force had reached their destination.

The Spartan II is Bigger and Badder!

Spartan II

Spartan II

The Spartan was designed by Peace River Skunkwerks to be an easy to produce heavy trooper gear that could be used in place of Warrior IVs. Simpler, easy to produce components were sourced from other Peace River designs particularly the Crusader. These larger parts made the Spartan quite a bit larger than other gears of its class. Paxton unveiled their new gear to the public as part of its rebuilding campaign with the tagline “Bigger & Badder”. The larger actuators and joint components had an unexpected side effect once the gear hit the market.

Building the Agamemnon

Giving Peace River some serious firepower, the Agamemnon is actually the prototype for what eventually became the Vulture for Black Talons.

Starting with a Vulture, you’re going to need to change it’s normal jetpack equipped V-Engine, with a Crusader’s V-Engine. Mount the LFM onto the back like normal for the Crusader, or if you want the Pilum variant, you can mount the MATM on the back as in the picture below.
