The Organ Grinder Support APE

A common misconception among Terranovans is that Utopian armies are composed entirely of armigers and N-KIDUs. This is false because for most of Utopian history the APE suit was used for piloted combat walkers. The APE is more than power armor but does not use a traditional seated cockpit like modern walkers. Instead, the pilot is housed in the central body compartment and their arms and legs extend slightly into the APE. This design is a direct descendant of worker suits during the Concordat era and similar designs are seen on Eden. Despite their near ancient design, APEs are still a common sight among the forces sent from Utopia to Terra Nova.

More variants have been observed recently which suggests Utopia is pulling even more hardware into the fight. The most common example is the Organ Grider Support APE. Based on the same fundamental design as other Support APEs and even the Edenite Man at Arms golem, this APE is designed for anti-infantry operations on a battlefield dominated by automatons. It exchanges its combination rifle/grenade launcher for a regular rifle to save weight and in exchange swaps the rocket pack for anti-personnel rockets. The saved weight grants a small increase in operational range and duration allowing it to serve as a hunter-killer unit.

Organ Grinders uses its rifle to pick of enemy officers and singular organic targets at range while their rockets make short work of clusters of targets in the underground cities of Utopia. On Terra Nova these units have been spotted during occupation duty and garrison operations.
