The Rock mamba is a pretty interesting variant of the traditional Black Mamba. The design for spike guns for climbing has changed since the original art in the Southern Vehicle Compendium, so we’re going to modernize it’s look a bit. Furthermore, while the artwork shows spikes on the knees, it’s pretty hard to add fiddly little spikes to those tiny knee covers, but we’ll take that inspiration to the shoulders instead, keeping a very pokey aesthetic.
To start as you’d expect, we are going to use the Black Mamba. The Black Mamba kit gives us a few good weapons used in on the different profiles, a MAC, the LAPR (used for the Brawler Mamba), and obviously LRP.
In my example, I decided to build a Hunting Rock Mamba with the Venomous and Switchback upgrades. I sourced a HRF from my bits box and used the arms holding it with both hands. On the back I attached the LAPR and put the MGM on the side, mimicking how my Cobras are built. To represent the Switchback upgrade, I pinned a sensor from the Iguana Chatterbox sprue on the rocket mounting point.
To finish the model off, I used spikes from the arena upgrades pack to give it those cobra-like shoulders.
